How do you eat your pizza: folded, flat or with a fork and knife?
Submitted by danimass.
Flat and with my hands!
Unless I'm in a fancy restaurant, in which I feel subconscious and
succumb to the pressure of using a knife and fork. But left to my
own devices, totally totally, flat and with my hands.
What's your dream career?
Submitted by Something.
Full-time novelist. Naturally.
Do you believe in ghosts? Have you ever seen a ghost?
Submitted by Nancy.
Yes.
Have I ever seen one though? If we're talking full
manifestations, ectoplasm and all that, then no. If we're talking
other things, like glass dishes shattering, ice cubes flying across the
kitchen, then perhaps, yes.
Do you remember your first flight? Where did you go? Why?
Submitted by Laurel.
I was 8 years old and it was my first visit to the Philippines. It was the first time my family had returned after immigrating here in 1980. Technically, I suppose this isn't my VERY first flight but since I was one and a half when we came to the US, I think no one will fault me for not counting it.
My father wanted to see the Philippines again, just in case he didn't survive his surgery that would be later in the year. I remember the flight very well because over the Sea of Japan, there was extreme turbulence (as usual) and I got catapulted down the aisle. It was scary for a little girl.
I suspect this is why minor turbulence does not bother me as an adult and why I give flight attendants nasty looks when they tell me to go back to my seat if I go to the bathroom when the fasten seatbelt sign is on. It's like, "Dudes, you have no idea. Once you go flying down an aisle or have to jump over careening foodcarts, you have a totally new perspective on turbulence."
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
What food or drink do you love when it's cold out? (Recipes and recommendations, please!)
Bulalo. And here's a recipe for it too.
It's been a long time since I posted here. (Almost a month?) I do admit I post more often at my livejournal so that's the best place to read updates on me. I do still check this account semi-regularly. :)
What TV show(s) will you be watching this season? Why?
Submitted by ducnly.vox.com.
I don't have a DVR so that entry title is WRONG!
Ahem.
Let's see:
1. Ghost Hunters (season premiere on October 11!)
2. America's Next Top Model
3. Avatar: The Last Airbender
4. Oban Star-Racers
5. Medium (when it returns in January so it's not really part of the fall line-up)
Not much really.
What was the highlight of your summer?
Submitted by ladym.vox.com.
Going to Writers Weekend in June, definitely. I got to meet Holly and Ann, plus some others like Elizabeth Bear, Jay Lake, Claire Eddy, and Joshua Palmatier. Not that they'd remember me now, I'm sure, but that was neat. I also made a new cool writing friend (Caitlin). And before the conference, I stayed with Mel and Rusty and scared their poor kitties. ;___;
All in all, that was a lot of fun!
What's your middle name? Is there a story or history behind it?
It's
Buntua. No story or history behind it. And it's not really
a "real" middle name. It's my mom's maiden name. :)
What's your favorite way to keep in touch? Phone, snail mail, email, text message, Vox, _____ ?
Email,
most of the time, but cell phone on the weekends since I tend to be
away from the computer. My cell phone is on only briefly during
the weekdays because it doesn't work in the lab (thick walls and I'm
underground) so it's a waste of battery to leave it on during working
hours.
